HIGINIO MACADAEG

Independent Director / Chairman of the Executive Committee

Joey Macadaeg was the President and CEO of the United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) from October 2016 until 2020. He was the Executive Vice President and Director of the UCPB and was also the concurrent Head of the Bank’s Corporate and Consumer Banking Group prior to his election as President.  

 He also served as UCPB’s Chief Credit Officer and as Head of its Credit and Supervision Group.  

 Prior to joining UCPB in 2003, Joey was Executive Vice President and Senior Credit Officer of Equitable PCI Bank from 2001 to 2002, Senior Vice President of Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co. from 2000 to 2001, Senior Vice President of Solidbank Corp. from 1993 to 2000, Vice President of Standard Chartered Bank from 1990 to 1993, and Assistant Vice President of Citytrust Banking Corp. from 1982 to 1989.  

 Joey graduated from the Ateneo de Manila University with a Bachelor of Science in Management and holds an Advanced Training Program certificate from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.  

PEDRO P. COELHO

Independent Director

An innovative, agile and multi-award-winning business leader with over 25 years’ international financial services experience with leading blue-chip institutions across three continents, Pedro has held progressive leadership roles in General Management, Business Development, Strategy, Investment Banking, Digital Banking/Fintech and Wealth Management.  

 He was the Executive Chairman of Banco BNI Europa, a new Challenger bank based in Portugal focused on innovation and Fintech partnerships creating an ecosystem of financial products and services. He is also Chairman of the Portuguese Fintech and Insurtech Association.  

 Before joining BNI Europa, he held several leadership positions such as CEO of Azure Wealth, a Wealth manager based in Switzerland; Founder and CEO of Standard Bank Angola, Board member of Standard Bank Mozambique, Exco member of Standard Bank Group CIB in South Africa, Founder and CEO of Amorim Global Investors, a private equity firm, Global Head of Financial Advisory at Banif Investment Banking Group, Executive Board Member of Banif Investment Banking Brazil and Head of Investment Banking for Portugal at Citigroup.  

 Pedro was nominated by the “African Investor” in the category of business international leader of the year in the African continent for his performance in Angola’s Santander Bank, and he had already been nominated, also in 2014, for the prize “African Banker of the Year”, from “African Banker” magazine.  

 He holds an MBA from HEC School of Management, an MSc in Management Information Systems from ISCTE-IUL, and a MSc in Industrial Engineering from Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (UNL).  

DAVID G. MAXSON

Independent Director / Advisor

David is an Independent Consultant providing his global clients with strategic and transformational assistance along with transaction advisory services. He also works with clients concerning governance issues and has sat on numerous Boards of Directors around the world. Clients have included Asia and U.S. based impact investment funds and financial services companies.  

 Prior to becoming an Independent Consultant and Director, David was a Senior Investment Officer with Accion and Accion Investments in Microfinance for over 6 years. During that time, he managed Accion Investment’s Africa based portfolio and led transactions across the continent as well as India and U.S. David also worked in middle market investment banking as a Senior Associate with Adelphi Capital, LLC advising U.S. based clients within numerous markets including technology, cleantech, and transportation.  

 David holds an MHA from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).  

JOB M. AMBROSIO

Independent Director / Advisor

Lawyer and businessman, Job is the President of Wecap Financial, Inc., which is a securities broker dealer, financial advisory and investment management firm based in Manila. He is also a director of Welcome Bank Philippines, a bank that is a joint venture between his local company and the Welcome Finance Group, which owns the 4th largest savings bank in Korea with assets of US$4B.  

 Job is also the Chairman of Penwood Corporation, a Philippine based consultancy firm providing services to energy and infrastructure companies.  

 In 2015, he joined Equis Funds Group, a private equity firm with AUM of US$3.1B that focused on renewable energy investments in Asia Pacific and led the bioenergy platform in the Philippines. He helped establish the Philippine office of Equis and he was involved in investments in solar farms, wind farms, a bioenergy facility, and hydro power.  

 He started his career as an associate attorney at the Puyat Jacinto and Santos Law Firm in 1999 and was named partner in 2006. He co-headed the Banking, Finance and Capital Markets Practice Group at PJS. Before being named partner, Job joined the Philippine Government briefly when he became Special Counsel to the Department of Finance where he provided legal advice on government debt issuances and asset privatization.  

 In addition to a law degree, Job also has an International Diploma in Computer Information Systems from the University of California, Berkeley and a Practice Diploma on International Capital Market and Loans from the College of Law of England and Wales. He is also a Cochran Fellow on Biofuels given by the United States Department of Agriculture.  

 Job earned his Juris Doctor degree from Ateneo de Manila University in 1998. He was admitted to practice law in the Philippines in 1999 and in the State of California in 2001.
